If I were to stop today and evaluate where my son is in the attachment process I would say he has moved forward but is not there yet. I don't know if you remember the analogy of The Bridge. Your child with RAD is standing at one end. Mom is standing at the other. It is best if mom can wait at her end for the child to come all the way across the bridge. If mom runs to meet the child before the child is ready, the child will blow up the bridge leaving mom feeling hurt and disappointed. So....it took a long time for my son to see there was a bridge. Then he looked at it awhile. Now he has a both feet on the edge of the bridge and is looking it over. I am trying hard to stay on my side. I may have to nail down my shoes.......

Look at it this way, if you have to nail down your shoes, you get to go out and buy a new pair : )

Seeing the bridge...that's huge! I'll keep praying for that first step! (((((((Hugs for you while you wait)))))))
I am so proud of him - and you for hanging in there. Still walking across a bridge? Not for me, no way, no how.
