RAD and Hope

Christmas is the season of miracles. We talk about the virgin birth, stars in the sky, and shepherds listening to angels. Many of us fully accept these stories as truth. Then we look at our children and we have a hard time finding and holding onto hope. Just yesterday I was talking to our oldest daughter about faith. Is it really faith when we believe when things are going well? Or is it faith when many things are going "wrong", we see no way out and we are tired.....and yet we have hope and continue to believe? Last night on my way home from class I saw that a house out in the country had taken Christmas lights and written in large letters "BELIEVE" on their front lawn. Was that message for me? This Christmas as you hear the music, read the Story, and sing the songs, ask yourself about your faith and hope that God is going to heal your child. Do you live like you mean it? Are your interactions with your child evidence of that belief? For me that is sometimes a resounding NO. Never, never, never quit.
