I went to a short morning seminar in Omaha today on RAD. I am anxious to share the information with every one I can. I am getting permission to copy the handouts and go over it in detail and will share soon. Attend any and all seminars in your area that you can! They are so encouraging and give you a great network of other moms and professionals. It is a reminder of things I should be doing and a pat on the back for what I am doing well. We have another one coming in March led by Bruce Perry.That should be amazing as well! The lunch speaker is Antwone Fisher. Just Google Attachment Seminars and your state name. If you can find out what organization generally sponsors them you can check their wesbite regularly or get put on their mailing list. It worth your time in my humble opinion! Then share what you learn. If I get permssion I am passing out copies of the handouts in my college classes, to other moms of RAD children in my community and will share them with you.
I thought about posting the title "We are here. We are here. We are here." We just watched Horton Hears a Who. In this movie Horton finds a tiny speck which lands on a clover, with an entire planet on it, Whoville. He becomes guardian of the "Speck" He knows all the little people are on the speck but no one else will believe him. At the end the other animals are going to destroy the speck. All the creatures on Whoville start playing instruments and yelling "We are here. We are here. We are here." The animals are going to toss them into hot peanut oil so Horton will go back to the normal way of life. At the last second, when the mayor of Whoville's son joins into the noise the animals can hear "We are here. We are here. We are here." Just the one voice made the difference. You are one voice. I am one voice. Together we can sing to the world. "We are here. We are here. We are here." Educate your family about RAD, your neighbors, your school district. Start a blog of your own. Let me know if you do so I can provide a link. Tell the people in your church. The more we talk and get people to read the more people will understand our children. They will understand us.
