Bear

He announced to me this morning that he has begun a search for a new adoptive family. He is willing to make false accusations about us if we are not willing to let him go. I told him we will not fight him. He is 17 1/2 years old. I do not know where this will lead. I told him I will continue to love him but that he is almost an adult so he can do what he wants. There was much more to the conversation. I'm sure some of this is a reaction to Fish and I going on college visits today. I feel sorry for his pain. I feel sorry for the pain it gives to the rest of us.

Even when you know where it's coming from, it still hurts. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Did you offer to help him find a new family?

Diana~ Thanks. He told me he has one picked out. Of course, I don't know if they know about it. Adoption is an expensive process and he is almost an adult. The people he chose has never met him and he has never met them. It is telling of his views of life, families, his fears. It was a brief conversation right before he left for school. I will be leaving town before he gets out of school but am sure I will chat with him over the phone. I will leave the usual love notes, etc for him and see if it comforts him at all.

I am so sorry. I know these kids cannot understand the pain they inflict on us with their wounds. But you are incredibly strong and you know it may be years before Bear understands all you've done for him. And as I firmly believe, our reward is not on this earth.

I'm so sorry. Miah said this kind of thing in anger when he was being disciplined the other night, but always takes it right back and it still hurts.

Lord bring peace.

Blessings!

Hannah

I hated reading this, but I did get a kick out of your video on FB. :)

Last week Mar was asking lots of questions about juvenile detention ... ya' know, in case it might be worth it.

She has flipped things back around this week, but it is still her favorite way to dig when she has a bad day.

WIshing you peace and blessings, fun and laughter and adventure as you go on your college visits. It is a special time, I pray nothing robs you of that joy. Sorry for Bear's attitude, . . . don't know what else to say.
