Needs

I want to report first that Bear has started writing on our Wall of Gratitude. I put a memo board on the fridge and I started writing something I am thankful for on it each day. I told the boys they could if the want too. Taz and Fish write on it quite a bit. Bear is beginning to add things. I say very little. I'm glad to see him having some positive thoughts and appreciation for life.

In my Multicultural Counseling class yesterday the professor said each human has 5 basic needs:

belonging
understanding
trust
control
self enhancement

You can imagine where my thoughts went. Children who have been in foster care or orphanges had none of the above. Now that they have them some children cannot see it or trust that it is lasting. So sad.

This is good for me today. We have a neighbor girl who spends quite a bit of time at our house. She spent the night with us last night and went to church with us this morning. She obviously has a LOT of unmet needs and we are thankful to be available to her. I'm struggling already, though, with balancing that with the responsibilities I already have.

Emiley,

We have had that at different places where we have lived. I'd set up visitng hours for them and they had to abide by them.

EMILEY-
be very, very, very careful about judging your neighbor. VERY.

So sad to think our kids didn't get those things.
Glad you liked the sunflowers, can't believe you washed your phone : )
Ethan did that once too, we made him buy a new one, guess you'll have too also, : )
