What ifs

Do you ever get a terrible case of the What Ifs? I do.

What if my child never heals?
What if he leaves home and never looks back?
What if he commits a crime?
What if he physically harms another person?
What if he doesn't finish school?

I find I can turn them around by reframing them.

What if my child's healing is coming but in his time, not mine?
What if my child learns home is a safe place?
What if he can hold a job?
What if he does marry and have children and learns to be a dad?
What if God is answering my prayers as I type this and I just cannot see?

Don't let the negative What Ifs get you down. Have a healing day.

I am right there with you! I can get terrible cases of the "what if's" - and they can be terrifying! I like your approach of turning it around. I'll have to try that next time. I usually just wait for my mind to get redirected, but it's much more difficult to get rid of that feeling in the gut that those thoughts leave behind.

great advice, I think everybody is wired to default to the negative it takes work to be positive.
