The World Can Be a Good Place

I think knowing life is good and the world can be such a lovely place are the biggest differences between me and my children with RAD. I know even while something bad is happening it will end. Life will get better again. Today was a hard day. I went to take my husband, Chris, to the ENT in a neighboring town to be checked. He has not felt well at all since his sinus surgery last Thursday. He was still having severe headaches, chilling and nausea. In the van he started throwing up. We had an empty water bottle in the car he managed to hit. That is talent. I pulled off the side of the road as he was still sick. Immediately a man pulled up behind and asked what he could do to help. He had a plastic bag and some napkins. I thanked him. He wished he could do more. The world can be a good place. As we pull into the clinic parking lot my husband becomes sick again and it is much worse this time. I pull around to the ER and they take him inside and start him on IVs and nausea medicine. They decide he is dehydrated and is taking too much of his pain medication. It is past lunch so I walk to a vending machine to get some Wheat Thins and Diet Coke. Lunch of champions. Of course I have trouble with the dollars. I walked around the corner and sat down. A young intern comes into the room looking around and says "Were you just at the vending machine?" Yes I was. "You must have dropped this dollar. I found it on the floor." I said I wasn't sure. He said it had to be mine. Smiled and walked away. The world can be such a good place. Friends volunteer to help. They ask if there is anything they can do. I hear the concern in their voices. I know they pray. My hubby is home in his recliner and is much better. The world can be a good place. I hope some day my boys see this is true.

"If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!"
Eccesiastes 4:10

Hope is not the closing of your eyes to the difficulty,
the risk,or the failure.
It is a trust that -if I fail now -I shall not fail forever
;
and if I am hurt,I shall be healed.
It is a trust that life is good,love is powerful,
and the future is full of promise.

Poor Chris!! He sounds like he was miserable! I hope he continues to improve.

And I hope you're hanging in there too.

It sounds like your hubby is just plain SICK poor guy. Watch him for a temp too. It is gross to feel that bad. How wonderful that people were good to you. Someday your boys will get it, God is still in the business of answering prayers.

ok Brenda quit it. Your picture is totally cute. Your haircut is great, very contemporary and hip. You look young and not my age because you are thin and in shape and definitely not a NERD. So fuggggeeit about it.

Karen,

ROFLOL! I have 4 teens. They let me know I am not hip. But that is ok. My goal is too be in good shape physically and not have grey hair. That is about all you can do!
