Attachment Seminars

I just attended a meeting about bringing an attachment seminar to our town. It sounds like a done deal for March 18th. There are so many rural areas (maybe cities too) that are uninformed about RAD. So many doctors, therapists and parents who have not heard of it. If you are interested in setting up one in your area this is how I did it. First, check on http://www.attachment.org/ and click on "seminars" to see if Nancy Thomas will be in your area. If not, you can use her contact information to email or call and find a person somewhat close to your area that Nancy has trained. There are 35 people in the U.S she has trained to give attachment parenting seminars. I then started calling theraputic agencies, social services, family resource centers, counseling offices, everyone I could think of to see if they had time for me to drop off information about this person (the seminar presenter sent the info to me). Once I found an interested party I followed up with a visit and she took off with it from there. It will be presented at our community college and will offer continuing education points to therapists and social workers. It can be done and I know that more people in our community will know about RAD because of it! Go get 'em.

I can't wait! Thank you for all of your efforts to get this going! People need to be informed and we can use all the help we can get as parents of these troubled kids. Great Job!!!

Denise,
If it is ok, I will email the flyer to you on Monday so you can make copies for anyone you think would benefit from attending. Thanks.
