Omaha

The shooting in Omaha is much to close to home for those of us in Nebraska. I have been at that mall many times. It is across the street from our Psychiatrist's office so we stop in often before visits. All of our friends and therapists in Omaha are fine. Can you imagine trying to tell my children with RAD that the man who is telling them they are safe to love and trust now had been murdered in the mall we go too? And yet, we have to look at the bigger picture. Are they safe to love and trust ME. That is what this is all about. No the world is no safer today then it was when they were little. But will I betray them? NO I will not. It all seems muddled at first but is actually clear. We all pray for the families of those whose lives are touched the most. We are all touched to a degree because we realize how vulnerable we are and how close this was. Rural America has been viewed as the safe haven. No more. So what do we do? We pray each morning for safety and live our lives as though we believe that it is true. We make our peace with God and ourselves so that if that time comes we know we are ready.

So true. We all think we are safer here, but the truth is bad things happen all over. Once again, all we can do is trust. God does not want us to live our lives in fear. We just need to remember He always goes with us. So glad that you weren't there!

Me Too!! After having one brother experience 9/11, I found myself hoping and praying that my other brother would not be experiencing this tragedy. Once is enough!!!Thankfully he and his family were all fine and no one had been shopping that day. What a horrifying ordeal. Sure puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

Have any of the boys said anything about the shootings?

Renee,

Not a word. I'm sure it was talked about at school.
